Yesterday was schools sports day. Ken, David and John ran in the boy’s race. David ran very fast. He was first and he won the race. Ken was second. John came in third. Ann, Mary and Jane ran in the girls race. Mocky was very excited.

SPORTS DAY 

In the US, Sports Day is a big day for the kids. It has lots of different games such as races,long jump,throwing and swimming. There are also fun games,like egg-and-spoon race and jumping bag race. Parents come and cheer for their kids,but they don’t usually take part in the games.

在美国，运动日是孩子们的大日子。它有许多不同的游戏，如赛跑、跳远、投掷和游泳。也有有趣的游戏，像鸡蛋和勺子比赛和跳跃袋比赛。父母来为他们的孩子欢呼，但是他们通常不参加游戏。 

In Japan, Sports Day is usually in spring or autumn. On Sports Day, school kids all over Japan take part in running races, tug-of-war and ball-tossing games. Some schools also have Japanese folk dancing. On this day,family members come to school and cheer for the kids. It is a great time for the whole family.
