When we think of spring,

we think of a season of fine,warm
weather and clear,fresh air.

Everyone longs for spring.

Spring is a short season in many
places around the world.
春天在世界上的很多地方都是一个短暂的季节。
But in my hometown, it feels like
spring nearly all year round.
但是在我的家乡，几乎一年到头都感觉像是春天。
The weather here is neither too hot
nor too cold.
这里的天气既不太热也不太冷。
The average winter temperature is
15℃.
冬天的平均气温是15℃。
In summer it never gets too hot.
在夏天，它从不会太热。
The average temperature is 24℃.

The city gets about 1, 000

重点句 / Key points
每个人都渴望春天。
long for“渴望，盼望”,long在这里用作动词。long for与look forward to(期待、盼望)意思相近。

spring nearly all year round.
但是在我的家乡，几乎一年到头都感觉像是春天。
feel like在本句作”感觉好像”讲，
It’s so hot today. It feels like summer.
今天真热，感觉好像是夏天。
另外，feel like还作“想要”讲，和would like同义，但二者是有区别的：feel like后面接动词-ing形式，would like后面接to do形式。I feel like eating bananas.=I would like to eat bananas.
我想要吃香蕉。
nearly和almost意义基本相同，都作“几乎”讲，我们这里暂不强调二者的区别。
all year round意为“一年到头”。
3.The weather here is neither too hot nor too cold.
这里的天气既不太热也不太冷。
neither…nor…”既不……也不……””……和……两者都不”，
Her hair is neither long nor short.她的头发既不长也不短。当“neither…nor…”连接两个并列主语时，后面的谓语动词要和第二个主语保持一致。
Neither Jim’s parents nor he is watching TV.
Jim的父母和Jim都没在看电视。
4.There’s plenty of sunshine too
意为：这儿还有充足的阳光， plenty of意为“许多”“大量”“充足”，它后面既可接不可数名词，也可接可数名词的复数形式
plenty of water大量的水，plenty of vegetables 充足的蔬菜。
plenty of相当于a lot of/lots of或enough。
注意：sunshine“阳光”，是一个不可数名词。
5.Because of the spring–like weather
由于春天般的天气
because of 与because都作“由于”“因为”讲，二者区别为：because of后面接名词词组
Jim didn’t come to school because of his illness.
吉姆因为他的病没有来上学。而because后面接一个完整的句子。
Jim didn’t come to school because he was ill.
吉姆没有来上学因为他生病了。
6.you can find hundreds of beautiful flowers and trees anytime of the year
在每年的任何时间你都能看到上百种美丽的花草树木。
hundreds of“数百的”，类似的还有：thousands of“数千的”。如果表示具体的几百或几千时，hundred和thousand就不要加s了。
four hundred 四百，绝不能说成four hundreds，同样，five thousnd五千，也不能说成 five thousands。

8.long for 渴望；向往；期盼

long for sb./sth. 表示“渴望某人/某事”
Lucy had always longed for a brother.
露西一直渴望有个弟弟。
I’m longing to see you again.
我渴望再次见到你。
long for sb./sth. to do sth 表示“盼望某人做某事”
She longed for the chance to speak to him again.
她渴望有机会再和他交谈。
①feel like doing sth意为“想要做某事”相当于want to do sth
He doesn’t feel like arguing with her.
他并不想和她争吵。
②feel like sth意为“想要/感觉像某物”,前者相当于want sth
I don’t feel like work today.
我今天不想工作。
③feel like+从句
He feels like he has never been to such a place.
他感觉好像从未到过这样一个地方。
